This webinar will focus on the lessons learned by Mohammad Shihadah in building cutting edge technologies throughout his career. From creating industry leading technology for speech recognition and video detection/content recognition, Mohammad Shihadah, went from Jordan to the USA, and took on the challenge of becoming an industry leader using advanced technologies. During this webinar, he will talk about his career, two of the companies he has founded – Apptek and IDenTV – and will share his insights on how to thrive in a world where new technological advancements seem to happen everyday with listeners.
Mohammad Shihadah is the CEO of AppTek LLC, a pioneer in automatic speech recognition and machine translation technology in the Washington D.C. area. Recently, he and his partners sold the machine translation business to eBay, Inc. With over 35 years of experience in human language technologies, Mr. Shihadah continues to be involved in AppTek’s development of automatic speech technologies, such as live closed captioning and multi-language subtitling, media monitoring solutions, and applying them into mainstream media companies, IVR, and call centers.
He is also the Founder and CEO of IDenTV a company that has developed cutting edge video fingerprinting and content recognition technologies. IDenTV has the ability to detect and report on video in real-time, as well as ability to index video at industry leading speed, automate the extraction of metadata, and perform facial, object and brand recognition. The technology is applied in the intelligence, advertising/marketing, and television and digital industries.
In addition to his executive roles, Mr. Shihadah is a board member or adviser of emerging growth technology companies, including Net2Voice, Ignite Media Solutions, and Pixelligent.
Mr. Shihadah is originally from Jordan (of Palestinian descent) and now resides in McLean, Virginia. He has a BS degree in Mathematics from Portland State University and a Masters of Science degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Oregon.
