Amira Rashad is the regional leader of digital branding and advertising at Facebook MENA. Formerly, Amira was Head of Media and Audience Network at Yahoo! Middle East, Africa and Turkey, the leading online publisher in the region with over 60 million users. She is a pioneer of original Arabic web series and entertainment programming in the Middle East. She has created and produced web forays for superstars Ahmed Helmy and Mohamed Henedy, the leading Arabic online entertainment show OMG Nujoum, World Cup programming with leading Saudi comedian Omar Hussein and several online reality shows.
Amira has 20 years of strategy, operations and marketing experience across the media, and consumer products and services sectors, and has previously advised Fortune 500 companies as a senior consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton and The Valen Group. She has also led teams at Dun & Bradstreet, PepsiCo International, and Leo Burnett Advertising, while working in the U.S., Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Amira is a UK Foreign Office Chevening scholar. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where is served as Editor in Chief of the Harbus newspaper and a leader of the Harvard Business School Middle East Club. She holds a BA in economics from the American University in Cairo.
A regular speaker at major media, marketing and women's leadership events throughout the MEA region, she has recently chaired the first International broadcasting convention in Dubai, and lead/participated in speaker panels at the Abu Dhabi Media Summit as well as ArabNet Riyadh.
