Salwa is a founding member of Oasis 500, the first seed acceleration and Investment program for early stage startups in MENA. She held the position of Investment Manager at Oasis 500 for 4 years, where she was responsible for recruiting, and investing in, early stage technology startups.
Salwa was also responsible for working with companies during the acceleration program to reach proof of concept and prepared ventures for follow on funding.
Salwa has helped companies raise more than USD 18M in follow on funding since 2011 in the MENA region, where high risk capital is scarce.
Since 2011, Salwa worked with more than 1,500 entrepreneur and invested in more than 70 startups from across the MENA region that are now part of the Oasis 500 portfolio.
Salwa’s role also included raising funds for Oasis 500’s investment arm.
Before joining Oasis 500 Salwa joined Al-Arabi Investment Group, the Investment Arm of the Arab Bank as a Senior Associate in their Corporate Finance and Investment Banking department.
Salwa also worked in management consulting at Deloitte Management Consulting Ltd. in London where she worked as a consultant in their Strategy Consulting department.
Salwa graduated from McGill University in Montreal with distinction with a Bachelors degree in Finance in 2004.
In 2011, Salwa completed a two-year MBA program at London Business School (LBS) in parallel to starting a globally recognized children’s fitness center, My Gym, in Jordan, as her own entrepreneurial venture (2009).
