What is the Junior Board?

TechWadi’s Junior board is a group of young professionals working in Tech, who dedicate some of their time to supporting TechWadi’s mission of building bridges between Silicon Valley and the Middle East and North Africa region to support the growth and rapid expansion of high-tech entrepreneurship.

Such individuals are also seeking to develop their professional and personal skills, build relationships in the tech world, and are committed to giving back to the tech community.

Members of the Junior Board will also be considered as part of the pipeline for the senior board.

What it entails

Depending on the given role, members of the board are required to dedicate a minimum of 2 hrs/week to support TechWadi’s mission. You’ll be expected to:

👉🏻  Run and manage events, panels and fireside chats (virtual/in-person) with the Techwadi executive team including the annual Techwadi Annual Forum

👉🏻  Seek out new ideas and opportunities to engage and grow our community of 10,000+ individuals including recruiting engaging other young donors and volunteers

👉🏻  Extend our relationships with ecosystem partners across the world 

👉🏻  Maintain communication between the Executive Team and Senior Board to provide a point of view on strategic plans and investments

👉🏻  Strengthen TechWadi’s bridge between Silicon Valley and the MENA region by acting as an ambassador for Techwadi

Minimum Qualifications

You're an ideal candidate if you have:
‍
🕹  2+ years of experience working in tech 
🌴  links to the MENA region and an appetite to give back and support the Techwadi mission
🤝  You live and breath tech with a network of founders, investors, and others in the tech ecosystem
💙  a humble personality
🌱  25 – 35 years of age
📍  and are based in Silicon Valley, New York, Boston or MENA

Available Roles

President of the Junior Board
Serves as the contact point between the Junior board and Senior Board. Sets strategies, goals, and objectives for the Junior Board and ensures that they are met. Ensures that all Junior Board members are involved and supported in their assigned activities.

Head of Sponsorships 
Spearheads sponsorship initiatives to support TechWadi’s budget. Takes the lead on overseeing communication with sponsors, aligning business and market needs, and overseeing sponsorship strategy and leverage planning
‍
Head of Marketing & Community
Leads TechWadi’s marketing and public relations efforts, building strategies to increase brand awareness. Includes organizing, implementing and managing marketing campaigns on numerous outlets through emails and social media platforms. The role also includes managing relationships with TechWadi’s ecosystem partners.

Head of Programs 
Spearheads TechWadi’s in-house programs – such as our Fellowship Program and our Mentorship Program and working with accelerators, incubators & VCs to propose and implement programs for them. This role will support the Head of Events and vs. versa.

Head of Events
Leads the creation, planning and implementation of live and virtual events for TechWadi, defining the goals and success metrics for events. Such events include TechWadi’s Annual Forum, fireside chats, panel discussions, demo-days & meetups. The role will also support the Head of Programs in managing and implementing different programs.

Note:

Each Junior-Board Member is expected to take the lead on organizing 2 events throughout the year. Examples of such events include fireside chats, panel discussions, demo-days & meetups. The Head of Events will be available to support.
